aftercare Cleaning Instructions:

Spray your new piercing morning and night with our fav Active Skin Repair solution. For further cleaning for five minutes in the morning and evening use a gentle compress of sterile saline on a non-woven sterile gauze. Do this daily until your piercing is fully cleaned.
It is normal to have dry build-up on the piercing, gentle compresses and light cleaning will remove it.
It is good practice to stand under a hot shower and let the warm water clean the piercing just try to keep it dry after gentle cleansing.

Aftercare PRecautions:

Be careful not to aggravate your new piercing when washing and styling your hair, putting on or removing clothing, and sleeping on your fresh piercing.
Be careful when doing any strenuous exercise shortly after being pierced.
Do not remove your jewelry during its healing time as it will begin to close immediately.
We suggest you avoid swimming in chlorinated pool water or freshwater lakes during the first week of the healing process.
Do not clean your piercing with Alcohol, Neosporin, or Bactine, these products are not designed for piercing. Keep to using sterile saline solution only.

Lobe: 2-4 months
Low Helix: 4-6 months
Helix: 6-12 months
Rook: 6-12 months

Flatback aftercare specifics

Your new flatback piercing will probably require a post downsize. We typically pierce with an 8mm length post and recommend downsizing to a 6mm post once swelling has reduced. We offer a post change out kit that comes with your choice of post size, a threader to assist, as well as instructions. You can also book a changeout appointment with one of our piercers.

The perfect tool to help you easily change out your new flatback piercing

The kit includes a press-fit taper, as well as your choice of flatback length.

HOW TO CHANGE YOUR FLATBACK EARRING

Remove your current earring.
Prep your new piece.
Gently bend the post of the earring top just slightly so it’s easier to insert into the flat back later.
Insert the taper.
From the front of your piercing, slide the notched end of the taper through until it’s about halfway through.
Guide the flat back into place.
From the back of your ear, attach the flat back to the taper and push it forward through the piercing.
You should now see the flat back post slightly from the front.
Attach the earring top.
Remove the taper, then press the earring top into the flat back until it feels secure.
