aftercare Cleaning Instructions:

  • Spray your new piercing morning and night with our fav Active Skin Repair solution. For further cleaning for five minutes in the morning and evening use a gentle compress of sterile saline on a non-woven sterile gauze. Do this daily until your piercing is fully cleaned.
  • It is normal to have dry build-up on the piercing, gentle compresses and light cleaning will remove it.
  • It is good practice to stand under a hot shower and let the warm water clean the piercing just try to keep it dry after gentle cleansing.

Aftercare PRecautions:

  • Be careful not to aggravate your new piercing when washing and styling your hair, putting on or removing clothing, and sleeping on your fresh piercing.
  • Be careful when doing any strenuous exercise shortly after being pierced.
  • Do not remove your jewelry during its healing time as it will begin to close immediately.
  • We suggest you avoid swimming in chlorinated pool water or freshwater lakes during the first week of the healing process.
  • Do not clean your piercing with Alcohol, Neosporin, or Bactine, these products are not designed for piercing. Keep to using sterile saline solution only.

Healing Times:

  • Lobe: 2-4 months

  • Low Helix: 4-6 months

  • Helix: 6-12 months

  • Rook: 6-12 months

Flatback aftercare specifics

Your new flatback piercing will probably require a post downsize. We typically pierce with an 8mm length post and recommend downsizing to a 6mm post once swelling has reduced. We offer a post change out kit that comes with your choice of post size, a threader to assist, as well as instructions. You can also book a changeout appointment with one of our piercers.
