EAR PIERCER (INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR)
Location: Baton Rouge, LA
Company: Piercd, in partnership with Embark Fine Jewelry
About Piercd:
Piercd was created by Erin, Katie, and Michelle—the founders of Embark Fine Jewelry—after Erin struggled to find a safe, stylish place to take her daughters to get their ears pierced. The mall felt outdated. A tattoo parlor didn’t feel right. So, the trio did what they do best: they built something better.
Rooted in the same values that shaped Embark Fine Jewelry—approachability, beauty, and doing things the right way—Piercd is redefining the ear piercing experience. We partner with trusted medical professionals and premium jewelry retailers to deliver piercings that are safe, precise, and elevated. Offered exclusively at Embark, Piercd services are performed using the hollow needle technique in a chic, professional setting designed to make clients feel confident, cared for, and celebrated.
About the Role:
We’re looking for a warm, skilled, and confident Ear Piercer to perform precision lobe and cartilage piercings at Embark Fine Jewelry. You’ll help clients celebrate life’s moments with safe, beautiful, and memorable piercing experiences using Piercd’s curated fine and demi-fine jewelry. This role is perfect for licensed medical professionals or certified piercers who love working with people, value aesthetics, and believe in doing things the right way.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform ear piercings using Piercd's hollow needle technique in accordance with strict safety and hygiene protocols
- Consult with clients to ensure comfort, education, and the right jewelry selection for their needs
- Set up, sterilize, and maintain a clean and organized piercing station
- Collaborate with the Embark team to provide seamless service during piercing appointments, pop-ups, and special events
- Stay informed on jewelry materials, sizes, styles, and backings to guide product choices
- Educate clients on aftercare procedures and answer questions with confidence and care
- Follow all protocols outlined in the Piercd Training Manual and attend any required training sessions.
- Represent Piercd and Embark Fine Jewelry in a positive, professional manner both in-person and on social media.
- Tag @getpiercd or affiliated handles on social media content featuring services.
Who You Are:
- Warm, approachable, and professional with excellent bedside manner
- Licensed medical professional (RN, NP, PA) or experienced certified piercer preferred
- Detail-oriented and committed to maintaining a sterile environment
- Strong interpersonal skills and customer service orientation.
- Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated.
- Comfortable working in a stylish retail setting with a luxury brand feel
- Willingness to work as an independent contractor and maintain professional liability insurance with Piercd listed as additional insured.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends.
Perks + Benefits:
- $20 per piercing.
- Bi-weekly ACH payments.
- Independent contractor status (you will receive a 1099-NEC form for tax purposes).
